QA and Workmanship

As a company we have focused on providing each employee with the tools and working conditions to do a first class job for our customers each and every day. We operate a dedicated in-house IPC training scheme in order to maintain consistently high levels of product quality and to enable our staff to enhance their skills and gain formal NVQ certification. In recognition of our commitment to develop our staff, we have held Investor in People accreditation since 1992.

Workmanship standards conform to the latest IPC610 and J-Standard Class 3 with the ability to manufacture to the exacting requirements of MIL-STD-2000.

ISO 9001:2000, ISO14001 and AS9100 accreditation held.

Ultra Business Excellence model

The Ultra Business excellence model strives to take the best from a number of initiatives and combine them into a single programme which ensures we continue to improve as a company, and as individuals.

Our quality system is the bedrock of the model. Our quality management system is fully accredited to BS EN ISO 9001:2000. The quality system ensures we manage the company using approved processes and procedures operated by fully qualified staff in every area of the business.

Customer Surveys are used to identify areas where further improvements could be made. Lean tools and techniques then highlight the non-value-adding elements within each process and Continuous Improvement Teams (CITs) and Corrective Action Teams (CATs) tackle the objectives set.

In summary, we operate a closed loop continuous improvement process which contributes to the reliability of the products manufactured at Ultra.
