Ultra CEMS invest in additional Flow Solder Capability

(February 28th 2006)

Following the acquisition of selective soldering capability by Ultra CEMS in Q4 2005, we have now added a further piece of capital equipment, a new wave solder machine. We recently installed a Vitronics Soltec Delta Wave Machine as part of our planned capital equipment investment programme. After an exhaustive review by our Production Engineering department we concluded that the DeltaWave offered best overall value for money and allowed us to future proof our wave solder service offering.

Mike Clements, Ultra CEMS Senior Process Engineer commented "We selected the DeltaWave because of its robust design, the large UK installed base and its suitability for mixed model production. The Delta platform soldering system is designed for three-shift production with maximum uptime. We should be able to achieve consistently high yields because the Delta platform is configured with such features as Digital Motor Control and Complete Maintenance Accessibility. Precise and repeatable soldering results are provided by digital motor controls, which maintain variation to within 1 rpm. Closed loop controls maintain precise solder and preheat temperatures. In addition critical subsystems such as fluxer, preheat and wave can be interchanged very easily".

The acquisition of the Deltawave machine is part of an ongoing investment plan at Ultra CEMs to ensure we are always able to meet or exceed our customers technological requirements.
